Jacob is an emerging young singer/ songwriter. He has been composing and recording his songs on computer at home for the last few years ,using the bare minimum recording facility of an old computer.
In 2008 Jacob uploaded two of his original compositions “Butterfly” and “Aflame” to triple JJJ’s unearthed Format, both songs went to no 1 and 2 position of the blues and roots chart in a matter of days and held for about 4 weeks, winning 9th position overall in ranking. and winning 1st and 2nd position on the blues and roots chart for 4 consecutive weeks .This was achieved using single take recording of vocal and guitar using computer onboard microphone with a bit of dodgy reverb added. Maybe the shit recording worked for Jacob in the blues and roots genre {raw and real, kinda deal}who knows.
Whatever, its a great public affirmation of Jacobs’ songs and talent at 17.on his first public outing.
Since that first rush of acceptance Jacob has been writing then performing his new material at “open mike“ nights on Queensland’s gold coast and spent the first 4 months of 2010 doing coffee shop gigs and busking in Melbourne. Jacob is back in Surfers Paradise to record the “First” C.D. doing a few local gigs and enjoying a bit of “home” cooking. Look out For JACOB ROHDE.
