I like to make music on my keyboard and computer in my free time. I'm just starting out and don't really know what I'm doing yet. Let me know if you have any comments / criticisms for my songs :)
By the way, my wife made this exquisite Owlvatar :)
Another thing: does anyone know where I can find the umlaut key?
(UPDATE) Thanks, Source :) My umlaut was in the Windows character map.

Hey. I'm Seven. Possibly not your typical high-school 'composer'.
I am what I generally like to call 'possibly a musician'. I have my goals, my dreams, all that, to one day be a 'really musician'. Perhaps I'll get there one day. Perhaps I won't.
Hopefully, either way, I'll enjoy myself.
This place serves as my online repertoire. It's quite disorganised, and half of it is pretty hard to listen to. Still, give some of it a go... I can't help but recommend "In Lieu of Perfection", "Deadly Inquisition" and "Significance of a Fish". Other crowd favourites are "Synthetic Angel" and "Echoing Through Your Window". If you're of a stranger musical orientation, "These Eyes Have Seen the Truth" or "Spinning Wheels and Stratagems" may be to your fancy.
I hope you enjoy yourself here. If you have any tips, suggestions, requests or any sort of comment at all, please, don't hesitate to drop me an email at:
consider_the_mushroom ( at ) hotmail.co.uk
Seriously. I love to hear feedback of all kinds. It lets me know I'm appreciated... or, at least, considered, whether that be a bad thing or not.
With that, I take my leave.
Reservedly,
Seven.

These are my demos. My music is, well, classical is where my heart is, but the music I create has spun out into a more electronic/industrial vibe, with a dash of classical, of course. I've been writing since I was 11 when I discovered it was a lot easier to make stuff up than to, bleh, read music. This is my first foray into "real studio" recording (at Icehouse, San Rafael with Bonnie Hayes). Everything before this has been home recorded. I'm a tech nerd out of necessity. It's cheaper to learn to record your own stuff, dontcha know. The goal is to make good recordings of my songs and to gig (oh, and then to have a hit record, build the most amazing studio in the world, and go on tour with Peter Gabriel). So, as I finish songs I will post them. I hope you enjoy them.

Well, for right now it's just me. I was born in Houston, Texas and have pretty much lived here my whole life. I have been playing music since 1990; guitar first, then drums bass and piano, singing last. I have played in such bands as Third Stone, Shangril-La, Cracker Mojo and Anomaly. I have had the honor of playing with some wonderful musicians. In chronilogical order...Ryan Paulin, Sam Edel, Scott Wright, Will Fogle, Mark Waltimier, Brian Rosner, Mike Atala, Quinn Williams, Jeff Friesen, Todd Collins, Rob Ramsey, Sam Austin, Cameron Crafford, Eric Hanchey, Scott Ara, Paul Bawa, Justin Thigpen, Josh Misigaro and Sean Fitzpatrick. Now, with the support of my girlfriend, Lucie, I enjoy playing at open mics and any place that will take me. Anyway, I write and record all original material. I just finished my education for audio engineering. I am presently looking for work as a musician or engineer.

I recently put together some random guitar music that I wanted to share with everyone. It is very raw and un-produced which is what I find very appealing about these tracks. In fact all the songs sound kinda incomplete. Very different from what I have been doing otherwise. Most of the pieces are just improvisations on the guitar and have very subtle orchestrations/arrangements. Keeping in mind the human attention span, I have made sure the tracks are mostly 3-4 minutes long. I'm not sure what genre this music would fall under but it could be fusion.I also created some artwork to go with each track. Hope you like it.
Since the music is protected by the creative commons, it is available as a free download on my website:

You can also download a hi-res pdf with all the artwork.

My thought on music has been influenced by the understanding Mozart had to tell his student. I have phrased that 'the key to learning music, is allowing life's melodies to speak to you'.
Some quotes from the book: Mozart, the man and the artist revealed in his own words. Compiled By Friedrich Kerst, Translated and edited by Henry Krehbiel.
Here, here and here [pointing to his ear, his head and his heart] is your school. If everything is right there, then take your pen and down with it; afterward ask the opinion of a man who knows his business to a musically talented boy who asked Mozart how one might learn to compose (pg. 5).
Melody is the essence of music. I compare a good melodist to a fine racer, counterpointists to hack post-horses; therefore be advised, let well alone and remember the old Italian proverb: -who knows most, knows least (pg.7).
I came across a great quote from the Jewish compser Ervine Nyiregyhazi, found in a letter to his lover;
'I am master of my passions to some extent... and yet I am torn by desires, asperations, conflicts, memories, all playing the melody of life on the strings of my heart' (pg.13)
I am a musician based out of the great state of Oklahoma in the mid-western area of the United States of America. I have had the opportunity to see bands grow such as The All American Rejects (AAR), as well as Other Lives - a band developed from one of the passionate AAR members. These have been two bands who I have learned from, and has allowed me to also see you can do what ever you want to do when it comes to music. I have played in a few bands, and it seems I was always the drummer but the people would always be great musicians who were looking for mainly people to contribute to their recording of their songs and just needed a session musician who could do the job to promote their talent to record companies such as Capitol Records.
My inspiration comes from something within me. Igor Stravinsky said 'I had my ear to help me; I heard and I wrote what I heard. I am the vessel through which Le Sacre passed' - quoted from the book; Hearing and Writing music, by : Ron Gorow - . This is what I have, and have come across a few people who have the same inspiration musically. I am someone who wakes up with melodies, and my mind articulates various ensembles during the day. It seems my only lack rests in being able to write what I hear. What I have posted is my process of learning to understand sound, and learning how to structure my ideas in music. I will eventually have a web site with postings of pieces I wrote for various instruments and different ensembles, as well as piano music I have recently written (the scores will be available).

A software engineer for about 12 years, at the age of 13 became involved with Electronic Music.
Influenced by his Grandmother, a piano concert composer, his Father, a guitarist, and a huge fan of Robert Moog and by a his cousin, a dance music singer Lulu Joppert, he became influenced by the Electronic sounds that a Synthesizer can produce as well as Techno and Minimal genres which are growing very fast in Brazil.
From 2003 to 2004, living in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, working in his main area (software engineering), he decided to shift his routine and began DJ'ing in some local places, and other German clubs of the NRW state.
In 2006, when back in São Paulo, decided to recycle his DJ skills learning new technologies as well
as began to produce some tracks on his own, always focusing on House Music, Trance and Techno genres,
In the meantime, DJ EJ promote some private parties in Brazil, as well as in some special occasions he was invited to DJ in some clubs in São Paulo, showing his progressive house melodic sets.
On 2008 and 2009, he decided to professionally produce his music on his home based studio, investing in some quality hardwares as well as softwares to deliver great quality audio with fine tuning, strong bass lines, melodies and percussion.
His sets are periodically in broadcast at di.fm progressive channel, normally within a month but that may vary.

This Hungry City Swallows Easy" Survivor, troubador, soulman, defiant spirit - just a few terms that describe Paul Claro - vocalist/guitarist/songwriter - of Paul Claro & The Dark Halls. Spinning out tales crafted from his long and winding road, spitting truth with a fearless zeal. His songs are at once familiar and jarring, beautiful, beatific & tragic...like a holiday in the sun or a tuxedo from your youth. Songs to believe in.

He has appeared as soloist, concertmaster, and conductor of numerous orchestras, including the Northwest Sinfonietta in Seattle, String Orchestra of the Rockies, Astoria Festival Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and the Maggini String Orchestra in Houston. Mr. LaMotte recently returned from studying under Maestro Dumitru Goia in Bucharest, Romania, and continues his study of conducting with Gregory Vajda, Resident Conductor of the Oregon Symphony.
As violinist and violist, Adam has been hailed by critics as an "especially compelling" and "superb violinist" with "exceptional talent," whose performances are "energetic and exquisite." This past season he performed as soloist in the Beethoven Violin Concerto, as well as both of Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerti. He has co-founded two critically-acclaimed ensembles, in Portland and in Houston, and continues to produce many chamber music and chamber orchestra performances. As Artistic Director of the Montana Baroque Festival, Adam brings fine period performance to rural Montana. Adam can be heard on the Cinnabar, Naxos, and Warner Classics labels. In collaboration with ensembles such as American Bach Soloists, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and Trinity Consort, Mr. LaMotte performs on period instruments, using a fine Italian instrument made in 1730 by Bernardo Calcagni, for which he is indebted to his generous patrons who made the purchase possible.

The program by Alesya Frolova and Victor Sopelckin
stands out from the others because of its wonderful
manner of collective playing and style. If you are any
kind of music fan, you will know what we are talking
about when we mention the thrill of discovery. It’s that
moment we all wait for, that instant when someone fresh
and unknown pierces right into you core and touches
your musical heart. And from that moment on, you feel
like these artists are your special treasure.
They were born to sing and create the joy of melody.
Victor Sopelckin maintains the clarity and purity of
a blues tone in his free way of playing the music and
adding his own voice in the course of some songs.
Alesya Frolova has unusual ability to sing like
a blues star with a perfect pitch and keep pace with
a trickiest instrumental breaks. Russian Radio of
America will be really happy to present her
beautiful personal style as a singer and songwriter.
Sit down and relax. Clear your mind and listen.
To know their music is to love them, and we bet you
will love the voice of Alesya and an art of Victor’s
playing.

Hi!
My name is Ken Graves and I've been playing music since I was 11 years old (40 some years ago). Though I may make a living otherwise, it's always been my life.
My songs span a wide range of styles and instruments; rock, country, blues, folk, classical (my attempts anyway), jazz, electronic, . . . did I mention blues?
I have a whole bunch of stuff to play on - several guitars, keyboards, banjo, harmonicas, gas pipe (yep, it's a viable instrument), and oh yeah, my computer. Lots of stuff on it too.
Anyway, I write what I like and try to play it and I hope others like it too. And I'm not above a little self aggrandizement. :^)

Born to a family of musicians, Chris has always had the passion of music coursing through his veins. Starting at the age of 13, Chris picked up a guitar and learned anything he could by listening and watching his father, grandfather and anyone else who picked up a stringed instrument. Coming from a heavy bluegrass background Chris has spent the last 16 years expanding his personal range and tastes in music. Being solely self taught, the music created by this artist is quite
unique and impressive. Being dubbed "the Riff Master" by some, Chris' ability to compose exciting riffs on the guitar is simply unmatched. Chris' current goal is to create an easy listening rock sound that anyone of any age or background can enjoy and he continues to work on his Bluegrass repertoire.
