Jaap is a Creative Duo environment that was born on January 2007 with Harriet Payer Anderss(images and videos) from Germany and Jorge Esquivelzeta (music,sequencing) from Mexico as all-timers.
Harriet comes from an art-oriented family from Stuttgart and cares for all the visual side of Jaap including all the paperwork that she dislikes but she has no option, though !
As well she is the mother of three kids and climbs the hills,makes jogging and goes to the gym.Likes reading, talking, and almost everything that smiles on this earth !
She has studied Graphic Design,Offset,Video and a little bit of not to fuzz and to keep working for the sake of the universe !
Jorge is coming from an art-oriented family as well...learned the Pain-o better said the Piano at the tender of thirteen,not so much improvement since then but still spends the night thinking about being big at it.
Learned Modern Harmony,Composition,Sampling,Synthesis,Sequencing and how to manage close to tears environments in London,England during the years 2003-2006.
Lately he has been trained in the circus as an animal trainer, to handle the reins of a never merciful,edgy,bloody-keep-going always hopeful thing like Jaap.
Based in Mexico City at the moment, the band produces a piece of music for each original image made in the photomontage fashion and viceversa.
Therefore a performance is played everytime to bind together images music and video but not in the common sort of way (no not really not even the way of brushing teeth before going on-stage).
The images are mounted in the video system as photographs(although they are printed in a very original way according to shape and material as well,making a collection of almost 40 pieces at the moment) and then synchronized completely with the music and videos via the two computers that are used live by Harriet and Jorge.
As well the performance is supported live with very fine musicians, giving music and visuals an always fresh and unique approach everytime.
As well Jaap is an international environment that houses musicians from Argentina,Mexico,Germany and still anyone that can at least shout their name on stage.
Sometimes it is three women and three men sometimes we don't really know...appearances is what is all about !
Therefore the band can fit as well a club,rave,catwalk or an art-gallery.That is what Jaap is all about.
