Droning Melancholy

"One day, I took an acoustic guitar and tuned all six strings to the note C (three different octaves if I recall). Then I handed it to Cic and told him to play it. He said, 'I can't play this, it's tuned all funny!' but I told him to just play something. What you hear as the melody of this song is what he played verbatim (albeit with some reverbation and panning effects). EVERYTHING else that you hear is somehow electronically extracted and modified from that same melody, there were no "overdubs" or other instruments, just that acoustic guitar, extracted, modified, looped, and transformed into this... droning melancholic bit." -- Josh Kline, from "3 lbs. of Interviews", 2009
